Bakani is a non profit organization dedicated to the creative and cultural heritage of Africa and its diaspora. The Foundation builds cultural infrastructure that preserves, connects, transmits, and reimagines heritage as it evolves across generations and geographies.

Bakani was founded by Lynette Sifiso. The name ‘bakani’ comes from the language of Lynette Sifiso’s maternal lineage (Kalanga) and means ‘to build’
